Founded in 1992, the Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra enriches the lives of Fort Bend residents and those from surrounding areas with live symphonic music. The full-size orchestra, complete with brass, woodwinds, strings and percussion, consists of approximately 50 talented and dedicated volunteer musicians primarily from the Fort Bend area.
FBSO has distinguished itself through its focus on presenting quality classical and popular music at an affordable price. We are proud of the broad range of music we perform and the exceptionally skilled members who perform it. We are especially proud to foster local student musicians through sponsorship of an annual Young Artist Concerto Competition. Winners receive cash prizes as well as the opportunity to perform with the Orchestra. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, FBSO relies on the generous financial support of our patrons, businesses and community organizations to make these performances possible.
In addition to our regular concert season at the Stafford Centre, FBSO presents a free concert to the community each year in Sugar Land Town Square. The Orchestra also performs at other venues in Fort Bend County. Over the years, FBSO has performed live at the Stafford Centre with legendary recording artists like B.J. Thomas, Christopher Cross, Kansas and Ray Price.
FBSO is truly a treasure for Fort Bend County. Few communities can boast of having their own symphony orchestra. We hope you will join us in experiencing the beauty, joy and creativity of music.
