Fort Bend’s own symphony orchestra teams up with Nashville country singer Todd Fritsch for a unique blend of strings and country music on Sunday afternoon, February 25, 2007. “In an effort to appeal to an ever widening audience group, we are expanding our repertoire for this upcoming concert,” said Amy Floyd, Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra President. The Orchestra’s February program, A Salute to the America's Cowboys, will be played at the Stafford Centre, 10505 Cash Road, Stafford, Texas 77477, at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 25. Pre-concert "Tune-In" starts at 1:15 p.m. The event coincides with the opening of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Fritsch, a real Texas working cowboy and Nashville recording artist, will join the orchestra for part of the program as the orchestra plays traditional cowboy favorites and cowboy movie themes. The orchestra’s conductor, Dr. John Ricarte, said “this concert will be unique in that we will be blending music from a symphony orchestra with country music. It promises to be a fun event both for our musicians and our audience.” The Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1992 and plays a variety of music, bringing “big city” music to the culture of the Fort Bend area. Musicians from the Fort Bend and surrounding areas take pride in showcasing their artistry. Tickets are available through the Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra web site at www.fbso.org and will also be available at the door on the day of the concert. Prices are $12 for adults and $7 for seniors and students. “We anticipate an overflowing house for this concert, so we encourage anyone who is interested in attending to purchase tickets early,” said Floyd. oOo For additional information contact Coleman Locke at 979-533-0756
