Mariusz SmolijFBSO Celli and Violas

The Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra will be holding an Open House for string players on Tuesday, September 4 from 7:15 - 9:45 p.m.  Come and experience the joy that is music, as you sit next to members of the Orchestra during a rehearsal under the baton of Maestro Mariusz Smolij.  This is a great opportunity to mingle with the members of the Orchestra and test your skills without the pressure of an audition.

Founded in 1992, the Orchestra has become an institution in the Fort Bend community, known for presenting an exciting and diverse array of both classical and popular music.  Recent performances have featured nuevo flamenco guitarist, Jeremy Garcia; country music singer, Todd Fritsch; classical pianist, Robin Harrison; and several young artist concerto competition winners.

The approximately fifty volunteer musicians of the Orchestra represent a wide range of occupations—from stay-at-home moms, teachers, a rancher, and business people, to retired persons, lawyers, chemists, and students of all ages. Membership is free and each musician receives complimentary tickets to all season performances.  Rehearsals are held every Tuesday night starting at 7:15 P.M. located in the First United Methodist Church, 3900 Lexington Boulevard, Missouri City, TX 77459 unless otherwise noted.
