Sam's Club Makes Donation to Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra

Pius Awa, marketing team leader for Sam's Club, Sugar Land, presents $1,000 to Laura Aguero, director of fundraising for the Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra. The grant will provide reduced FBSO ticket prices for retirement/assisted living communities in the area.


FORT BEND SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA PRESENTS “HOLIDAY MAGIC” ON DEC. 6
SUGAR LAND – The Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra recaptures the magic of the season as it presents “Holiday Magic” on Sunday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m. at the Stafford Centre. The program, directed by Héctor Agüero, Jr., features classic, seasonal favorites like “Sleigh Ride,” “White Christmas” and “’Twas the Night Before Christmas.”

This holiday concert is the most popular concert of the year so purchase tickets early at http://www.fbso.org or call 281.276.9642. Individual ticket prices for adults range from $10 to $25 per concert. Senior and student prices start at just $5. Children 12 and under are free, but must have a reserved ticket.

About the Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra
The Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra (FBSO), founded in 1992, enriches the lives of the residents of Fort Bend and surrounding areas with live symphonic music presented by its volunteer members. The full-size orchestra, complete with brass, woodwinds, strings and percussion, represents an abundant cross-section of local talent, most of whom reside in the Fort Bend area. FBSO also fosters local musicians through sponsorship of an annual Concerto Competition and opportunities to perform with the Orchestra.

The Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra is pleased to announce the winners of our Ninth Annual Young Artist Concerto Competition held January 10, 2009 in Missouri City.

The Grand Prize Winner is Benjamin Zannoni (Viola) of Houston.  The Runners Up are Christopher Henselman (Piano) of Austin; Erik Wheeler (Cello) of Houston; and Liana Wang (Piano) of Houston.
