Join the Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra and Music Director Héctor Agüero, Jr. at the Stafford Centre on Sunday, December 7 at 2:00 p.m. as we ring in the holiday season with “Deck the Halls” – a festive musical event.  The Orchestra will perform a variety of holiday tunes – from “Sleigh Ride”, “Christmas Song” and “Frosty” to selections from the Nutcracker and the Messiah featuring Robin Angly, Mezzo-Soprano, and Laura Agüero, Soprano.

Beethoven in Blue Jeans Art Contest Winners Announced

Winners of the First Annual Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra Art Competition were announced this past Sunday at the Stafford Centre during the Orchestra’s concert entitled “Beethoven in Blue Jeans”. The unusual title of this concert provided the subject for the artwork submissions.

Andrzej Grabiec will join the Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra
Andrzej Grabiec will join the Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Héctor Agüero, Jr. in a performance of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Violin Concerto No. 3 in G Major, K. 216 on Sunday, October 19, 2008 at 2:00 PM in the Stafford Centre, 10505 Cash Road , Stafford , TX . The concert, entitled “Beethoven in Blue Jeans” will also feature the Coriolanus Overture and Symphony No. 5, both composed by Ludwig van Beethoven.  Audience members are encouraged to dress in blue jeans for the performance.

Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra Announces Open House

The Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra will be holding an Open House for string players on Tuesday, September 4 from 7:15 - 9:45 p.m.  Come and experience the joy that is music, as you sit next to members of the Orchestra during a rehearsal under the baton of Maestro Mariusz Smolij.  This is a great opportunity to mingle with the members of the Orchestra and test your skills without the pressure of an audition.

Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra in FREE Concert

FBSO @ Sugar Land

Come out and join the Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra on Saturday, September 6th, 2008 at 7:00pm for their first concert of the season at Sugar Land Town Square! This concert is absolutely FREE and will feature many popular pieces.

The Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra is excited to present Héctor Agüero, Jr., the new music director of the orchestra.  This is Hector’s first concert as the new conductor, so help the orchestra and the community in welcoming him by coming out to listen.

Katy resident named orchestra leader
Hector Aguero becomes third conductor of Fort Bend symphony

It's been a crazy kind of season for the Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra, but life is about to settle down with the recent announcement that a new music director has been appointed.

Hector Aguero Jr., a Katy resident, is the orchestra's third conductor since its inception in 1996, and he's the first native Texan to hold the position.

Fort Bend Symphony Names New Music Director
The Fort Bend Symphony Orchestra is pleased to announce the appointment of Héctor Agüero, Jr. as their new Music Director, making him the first native Texan to hold this position. The announcement comes on the heels of a year-long search following Dr. John Ricarte’s decision to step down as Conductor at the end of last season. The search attracted over 50 applicants from around the world. From these applicants, the FBSO Search Committee selected five very talented finalists who led the Orchestra as Guest Conductors over the past season.
